Barking

A purpose-built facility offering free hot showers and clean underwear for people experiencing homelessness has opened in east London.

Join hands with us to tackle poverty in our local community. We provide essential items such as food and clothes to families in times of crisis. We also support people out of poverty through our various projects geared towards giving those in our community who need it, the tools to transform their own lives. The Lighthouse Youth Empowerment Gym has been established in partnership with TKO Boxing Gym, keeping our community fit and healthy.

Training Courses

Beyond Bars is a 12 week training programme aimed at giving those who need a second chance new work opportunities.

Clothes Bank

We run a clothes bank helping people who need good quality clothes for themselves and their family.

Foodbank

We provide three days worth of emergency food to local people referred to us in times of crisis for individuals and families, and highly skilled programs for young people to help them unlock their potential.

We are SIFA Fireside: the Birmingham charity which stands by the people who are facing, at risk of, or in recovery from the effects of homelessness. Although anybody can become depressed, addicted or homeless, this is far more prevalent amongst particular groups and we exists to challenge the systemic causes, as well as the effects of homelessness.

Bundles that love

Our aim is to bring comfort in crisis to those who need it in the BCP area. We provide baby and children’s clothing up to age 5, essential baby items such as: sterilisers, cots, pushchairs and bedding, and other needed items for the family such as hygiene products. Through our project, we hope to alleviate some of the struggles that may be faced.

How to be referred?

To be referred to our project, an official referral must be done by a community worker or professional, we cannot accept self-referrals. The professional that makes the referral must be as thorough as possible when completing the referral form to ensure the relevant items are selected for the family.

looking after the homeless LATH is a group of volunteers with a variety of backgrounds and skills, who devote their time to caring for homeless, needy and vulnerable people in the Crewe and Nantwich area. LATH can provide a tent and a sleeping bag for anyone sleeping rough, or possibly up to three night’s hotel accommodation (if available), and subsequent assistance towards finding suitable housing. We liaise closely with other established charitable bodies and agencies, along with Cheshire East Council, to find solutions to a wide range of problems encountered. We currently operate a drop-in centre in Crewe twice a week from 10:00 to 13:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at St Mary’s Caritas Centre , 65 Delamere Street, Crewe, CW1 2JX.
