FAQs

Donation question

Our scheme converts your generous donations into digital e-vouchers. These are distributed to vulnerable individuals via our partner organizations. Unlike cash, these vouchers can only be spent on essentials like food, toiletries, and clothing at participating retailers (such as Aldi, Boots, and Primark), ensuring your gift is used exactly where it’s needed most.

Why is a voucher better than a direct donation of food or cash?

Answer: Vouchers offer two major benefits: Dignity and Safety. By providing a voucher, you empower the recipient to choose exactly what they need, whether it’s a specific dietary requirement or a pair of warm socks. Additionally, it provides donors with peace of mind, as the vouchers cannot be used to purchase age-restricted items like alcohol or tobacco.

People in need

You can apply directly through our website by filling out our secure application form at www.pifgiftvouchers.org/person-in-need-request-form/”>.
We are a small, volunteer-run charity, so we ask for a bit of patience while we review your request.

You will need to provide a recent bank statement (dated within the last month) showing your name and address so we can verify your identity and situation.

Please attach another document containing your name and address as the form won’t let you submit without one.

Please email or send us a WhatsApp and send the statement that way.

While we do accept direct applications, having a referral from a support worker, GP, or another charity can often speed up the process. If you have a support worker, please include their contact details in your application.

To ensure our donors’ funds are used for essential support, vouchers cannot be used to purchase age-restricted items such as alcohol or tobacco. They are strictly for food, clothing, and essential household items.

No. Our e-vouchers work just like a standard gift card on your phone. You simply scan the barcode at the checkout. It is a discreet, private way to pay that preserves your dignity.
