The Edge Cafe – recovery Hub |
The journey of developing a ‘Recovery Hub’ for Cambridgeshire started as a vision over 3 years ago. We saw that there was a something missing, people who were leaving specialist treatment services didn’t have a place to go that they could call their own, to support them to sustain long term recovery and prevent relapse. It’s been a very long journey, but now this vision is finally coming to life. The cafe has been very lucky to date and has already been offered countless hours of support and donations from organisations and individuals, and funders. We’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you. |

The Edge Cafe - Fareshare
FareShare The Edge Café are delighted to be working with FareShare. As part of their mission to cut down on food waste and to combat hunger, FareShare redistribute good food destined for waste to charities and community groups who turn it into nutritional meals for vulnerable people. We pick up food via FareShare every day, and we use as much of it as we can to populate our excellent specials menu. How much, and what food, varies on week-to-week. So our specials are always changing depending on what we receive. This helps us to keep our prices down. Anything that we don't use in the kitchen is free for customers or visitors to take. This community food hub has been operating throughout the lockdown period, meaning we have been able to provide many people a day with food. For more info about what FareShare do nationwide, you can get some details and statistics from their website.
