https://www.theedgecafecambridge.org/recovery-hub | The journey of developing a ‘Recovery Hub’ for Cambridgeshire started as a vision several years ago. We saw that there was a something missing, people who were leaving specialist treatment services didn't have a place to go that they could call their own, to support them to sustain long term recovery and prevent relapse. The EDGE has been very lucky to date and has already been offered countless hours of support and donations from organisations and individuals, and funders. We'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you. If you would like to support us in making the Cambridge Recovery Hub happen, you can do so by donating or by offering practical help. Do you work with an organisation you feel we'd work well with too? Do you have a specific skill that you wish to put to work for a good cause? Are you in recovery yourself and wish to get involved? We'd love to hear from you! For all enquiries, please contact gail@theedgecafecambridge.com
Community food hub and community fridge | The EDGE Café @ Brookfields is proud to be the first (and founding) community food hub and community fridge set up in Cambridge City. We are working in conjunction with Cambridge Sustainable Food, Food Poverty Alliance, FareShare and Neighbourly as part of their mission to combat hunger and cut down on food waste. Details of other food hubs in the Cambridge area founded as a result of the Covid pandemic can be found here. Through FareShare and Neighbourly we are allocated daily quantities of food from all of the major supermarkets, and this is weighed and displayed for people to access each day from Monday to Saturday. How much, and what food, varies from day to day. We encourage the community to use the food hub as a place to donate any unopened, in-date food they may have. | Brookfields Hospital site, 351 Mill Road, Cambridge CB1 3DF
